Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh – August 5, 2025: A wave of political intrigue has swept through Cox’s Bazar as five senior leaders of the National Citizen Party (NCP) reportedly held a confidential meeting at the Royal Tulip Hotel (Sea Pearl Beach Resort) with former U.S. Ambassador Peter D. Haas. The leaders—Sarjis Alam, Hasnat Abdullah, Dr. Tasnim Zara, Khaled Saifullah, and Nasiruddin Patwari—arrived from Dhaka around 11:35 AM and were escorted under tight security.

Sources suggest the meeting began shortly after noon and centered around sensitive political topics, including alleged pressure to postpone the upcoming national parliamentary elections. Interim Government Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus is believed to be a key figure in the discussions.

Despite official denials from both the NCP and hotel authorities, speculation continues to grow. The timing of the meeting—coinciding with the “July Declaration” event in Dhaka—has raised eyebrows across political circles. BNP activists have also gathered near the hotel, demanding transparency.
